Tata-Nisha Shenelle Mitchell

Tata-Nisha Shenelle Mitchell, "Tinki" or better known as

"Shorty", the daughter of the late Mattie Shirlene Lyon and John Brooks was born February 4, 1973, in Durham, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mattie Brown Mitchell, her grandfather Javan Manley Mitchell, her mother Mattie Shirlene Lyon, and her nephew Javontae "TJ" Brooks.

According to the will of God on Friday November 15,2024, the death angel visited our beloved "Shorty" and carried her to a greater place to rest in the arms of her mother Shirl.

Shorty lived life to the fullest and on her own terms. She was full of life and love surrounded her. She attended Chapel Hill Public Schools and Durham City Schools. Shorty loved her family greatly and was supportive in every way imagined.

She leaves to mourn one son, Tysheem Lablanc of the home and two grandchildren Alaina and Abygal. Four sisters Jaquana S. Mitchell, Rarikanichie S. Brooks, Susan Nickens and Starnisha Brooks. Two brothers Maurio T. Mitchell, Robert J. Lyon, One great aunt, Virginia M. Lunsford, one grandmother, Ruthie S. Mitchell, three uncles Manley R. Mitchell (Sharonda), Ricky L. Mitchell (Ursula), Korea L Mitchell and one Aunt Tahitia S. Royster (Michael). Close cousins, Renee, Lisa, Tomeka, Ifetayo, Deshaun, Keisha, and Chrissy. Four nephews, three nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
