Stacey Renee Benson, a dedicated Teacher Assistant in the Guilford County School System, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital. Born on February 6, 1982, in Guilford County, Stacey's life was marked by her steadfast commitment to education and the well-being of the children she supported throughout her career.
From a young age, Stacey showed a passion for learning and a deep desire to help others achieve their full potential. This passion guided her to a career in education where she worked compassionately and diligently alongside teachers, providing invaluable assistance to students in need. Her role as a Teacher Assistant was not merely a job but a calling that brought out her caring nature and tireless dedication to the community she loved.
Throughout her life, Stacey was known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering support to those around her. She touched many lives through her work, leaving a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and families alike. Her presence in the Guilford County School System enriched the educational experience for countless children, many of whom benefited greatly from her guidance and encouragement.
She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she pursued her passion for music, and later continued her studies at Guilford Technical Community College to obtain her pilot’s license. She began her professional career as a receptionist at Moses Cone Hospital, and went on to dedicate 13 years of service to Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation Center with Carolina Therapy Services. Stacey also spent time working in the restaurant industry, including Harper’s at Friendly Center, where we first met, and Full Moon Oyster Bar, where we had the pleasure of working together for seven years.
Stacey’s passing marks a profound loss for all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and the positive influence she had will continue to resonate within the halls of the schools she served and in the hearts of her community.
In remembering Stacey Renee Benson, we honor a life devoted to service, education, and love for her community. Her legacy remains a beacon of dedication and compassion, inspiring those who follow in her footsteps. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Left to cherish Stacey's memories are her Loving Husband, Kevin Wayne Benson, her Precious Daughter, Avery Benson, two Siblings, Valerie Denise Smith and Andrea Michelle Grimes, two Stepbrothers, Johnathan David Neal and Jamie Creighton and a Host of Family and Friends.
