Nailah Ayo McNair

Nailah Ayo McNair, a devoted educator and cherished member of the Durham community, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Duke University Hospital. Born on February 29, 1996, in Orange County, Nailah dedicated her life to nurturing and educating young minds as a Daycare Teacher at Abundant Love Christian Daycare.

Throughout her career, Nailah demonstrated unwavering compassion and an exceptional ability to connect with children, fostering an environment where they could grow, learn, and thrive. Her commitment to education and care was a testament to her gentle spirit and kind heart. Her influence will continue to resonate in the lives of the many families and children she touched.

The community mourns the loss of Nailah and honors her legacy through memorial services thoughtfully planned to celebrate her life and contributions.

There will be a Public Viewing held Friday, May 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Peaks and Waters Memorial Funeral Care, located at 4914 North Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27704. This time will allow friends and colleagues to come together in remembrance and support.

Visitation will follow on May 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at The River Church at 4425 Ben Franklin Blvd, Durham, NC 27704. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM on the same day, providing a solemn occasion for family, friends, and community members to pay their respects and celebrate Nailah’s enduring spirit.
