Lester Clark, Jr.

Lester Kimlin Clark, Jr., better known as “JR”, was born February 5, 1968, in Washington DC, to Mary and Lester Joseph Clark, Sr.

JR passed away Monday, February 10th, 2025, in Durham, NC.

JR loved spending time with family while growing up, especially all his cousins. JR moved to NC in 1993. A passion of his was cooking, which he carried into his professional and personal life. Later that year, he met his children’s mother, Karla (Brost) Clark. In 1995, they moved to IN and married June 1, 1996. They had 2 daughters, which he loved dearly. JR returned to NC in 1999. He found hard times throughout his life, but never gave up trying to get his life back on track. He brought his jokes and fun-loving personality to every conversation!

JR is survived by his daughters Jasmine Clark and Mariah (Brian) Gallegos, grandkids Nolette, Eliseo and Ezekiel Gallegos, his mother Mary Farmer, brothers and sisters as follows: Lucy Vaughan, Cathy Culbreth, Gary Swan, Joe Swan, Stephanie McNeill and numerous extended family members. JR was preceded in death by immediate family members, father Lester Joseph Clark, Sr. and brother James Swan.

Visitation will be held February 18, 2025, from 11am - 1pm (EST) at Peaks and Waters Memorial Funeral Care, Durham N.C.
