John F. Sweeney, Jr., passed away, unexpectedly, on May 18, 2023 in Carrboro, North Carolina exactly five years after the death of his brother, Bill. John was born in Niagara Falls, New York on August 23, 1954. He grew up in Niagara Falls and Lewiston, and attended local schools. After graduating from Bishop Duffy high school in 1972, he lived in Wyoming, Maryland and North Carolina. He had a twisted sense of humor and had plenty of laughs with his family and friends. John is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord, for eternity. John was predeceased by his parents, John F. and Mary C. Sweeney and his brother William J. Sweeney, MD. He is survived by his sister, Moira E. (Gabe) Llabres and his brother, Brendan (Sheri) Sweeney. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, who held a very special place in Johns heart. He loved his family unconditionally and deeply. A private celebration of Johns life was held at the convenience of his family.
