Irease Jeffrey

Durham

Irease Daquan Jeffrey, a devoted father, gifted artist, and humble soul, departed this life on January 4, 2026. Born on January 25, 1995, in Durham, North Carolina, Irease moved through the world with a rare blend of charisma and deep gratitude. A man of faith, he lived with the steadfast belief that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.

A former student of the Durham School of the Arts, Irease was an accomplished rapper and lyricist. Within the Durham community, he earned widespread recognition for his music videos and intrinsically deep lyrics, possessing a natural ability to command a presence through his craft. Despite his artistic success, he remained remarkably humble, known for a generous spirit and a willingness to assist anyone in need. He was deeply appreciative of the small blessings in life—a kind word, a family meal, or a shared laugh—and never permitted his talents to overshadow his generous heart.

While music was his passion, Irease’s primary devotion was to his son and his daughter, Iresio Shyhiem Jeffrey and Ipromyse Desire Jeffrey. This paternal love served as the catalyst for his work ethic, leading him to serve in various retail security positions throughout his adulthood. While he took great pride in his image, style, and his affinity for urban fashion, his greatest focus remained the interests and future of his son.

Irease’s formative years were defined by the enduring bonds he shared with his siblings. Raised in a tight-knit household under the guidance of his mother and stepfather, he grew up in an environment where family and faith were paramount. He spoke with immense pride in his brothers and sisters. Whether they were playing basketball and football in the yard, sitting through countless movie marathons as children, or traveling to the lake and beach, Irease was happiest when surrounded by his family. These laughter-filled holiday gatherings and quiet movie nights were the foundation of his world and defined the man he was at his core.

During his youth, he and his brothers were faithful attendees of Liberty Baptist Church, participating in the Sunday bus ministry. These early experiences established a foundation of loyalty and love that he carried throughout his life. As he entered his teenage years, his community further expanded through his fellowship at First Pentecostal Church in Durham. It was there he developed a significant bond with Roshouny Johnson. What began as a mentorship evolved into a deep, familial connection; Roshouny became a "brother in love," cherished by both Irease and the entire family as one of their own.

Irease was preceded in death by many beloved family members. His legacy of love is carried forward by his two children, Iresio Shyhiem Jeffrey and Ipromyse Desire Jeffrey; his mother, Tonya Fox-Glover; biological father, Micheal Jeffrey; and stepfather, Dennis Ray Glover.

He is cherished by his grandparents: Zorina Fox, Mark Fox, Gladys Jeffrey, Verlene Glover, and Bobby Glover. His memory will be held dear by his fifteen siblings: his brothers, Marcellus Glover (Shakela Jeffries-Glover), Dalvin Glover, Israel Glover (Azhane Glover), Justin Glover, Mario Mcgill, Detrique Cherry, Desmond Pegues, Micheal Jeffrey Jr., and Roshouny Johnson; and his sisters, Jessica Glover, Quashaunta Jones, Jacqlene Watt, Mikia Jeffrey, Miracle Jeffrey, and Dasia Curtis. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and fans who were touched by his charismatic and humble spirit.
