Christopher Bernard Pugh, born on April 1, 1971, to the late W. Thomas Pugh and
Philistine Alston, departed this life on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Garner, North
Carolina. He was 53.
Christopher received his education within the Wake County Public School system
and graduated from Garner High School. He then furthered his studies at
Colorado State University and Livingston College and subsequently established a
successful career as a General Contractor. He was the President and CEO of C B
Pugh Builders, LLC. His love for building showed throughout his work as a Master
Carpenter, with designs featured in local and out-of-state publishing. Chris had a
passion for woodworking and creating beautiful homes that will be cherished for
generations. He held certifications in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina,
and Tennessee. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found "Lost Souls," an
outreach program dedicated to supporting and guiding at-risk youth. Chris
possessed a deep passion for serving his community and extending a helping
hand to those in need. He will be fondly remembered for his generous heart, his
remarkable carpentry skills, and his unwavering willingness to assist others.
Chris lived a life grounded in service. Chris was a powerful testament to the
strength of overcoming adversity and eager to share his story of resilience. Above
all, he was a devoted husband, a loving father figure, a cherished son, a caring
brother, and a loyal friend.
He was predeceased by his father, W. Thomas Pugh, his sister, Nikki Alston, his
grandmother, Joanna Pugh-Holley “Mama Jo”, his aunts Ruth Price, Annie Mae
Goggins, and his uncle Charles Pugh II.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Philistine Alston of Raleigh, NC;
siblings, Shawn Alston (Monee’) of Franklinton, NC, Sharon Price Morrison of
Raleigh, NC, Kim Alston of Raleigh, NC, Brian Alston of Raleigh, Shalia Pugh
Blackmon of Knightdale NC, and Ronald Thomas Pugh of Atlanta GA, his extended
family, Johnny Mae Goggins of Raleigh, NC, Devon Herab, Mary Pugh Bailey
(Harmon) of Raleigh, NC, Ernestine F. Pugh of Fayetteville NC, Rev. Dr. Teresa L
Smallwood of Gettysburg, PA, Angela Bailey Harding (Ron) of Raleigh, NC,
Kimberly Bailey-Barnette of Raleigh, NC, Harmon Bailey III (Trae) of Raleigh and
Tonnika Goggins of Hot Springs, AK. He will be deeply missed by a host of nieces,
nephews, relatives, friends and cousins, each holding precious memories of his
life. His legacy of kindness and resilience will forever inspire those who were
fortunate enough to know him and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he
touched.
