Charlann Clack Obituary

Charlann Clack was born on October 2, 1958 and transtioned to be with the Lord and her mother (whom she missed sorely) on July 17, 2023.

Ms. Clack is originally from Detroit, Michigan where she was the second born child of Charley James Clack (deceased) and Lorene Clack (deceased). She grew up on the west side of Detroit, along with her older sister Linda Joyce Dunwoody and younger brother Larry James Clack (deceased). The family attended New Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.

'Chala', as she was affectionately nick-named, is a graduate of Mumford High School on Detroit's west side. She loved to dance, play spades, and often did not shy away from a good old-fashioned fist fight. She possessed an extremely sweet spirit, but would not hesitate to protect herself or her loved ones at a moment's notice.

Charlann became the loving and doting mother of her only child...her daughter, ReShockie Furnace, at the tender age of 17. Being a teenage mom harbored an extremely close relationship between the two. She was equally close to her only grandchild...her grandson Justus. So close that when ReShockie and Justus made their faith move to North Carolina in 2011, ReShockie moved her mother to the new state just a couple years later to care for her more directly. She spent the last years of her life with her only child and grandchild, as well as her son-in-law (Kian Furnace) and his family. Their fond memories are filled with lots of love and laughter.

Ms. Charlann Clack is survived by her daughter ReShockie Furnace (spouse Kian), grandson Justus, older sister Linda Dunwoody (spouse Terrylon), 3 nieces (Deirdre, LaTasha, and Mondraea), nephew (Daniel), and multiple great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and childhood friends.
