Caroln Lavenni Minor was born on March 2, 1950, to the late William Henry Minor and Edith Christine Minor in Durham, North Carolina. Carolyn fell asleep peacefully, entering into her eternal resting place on Saturday February 1, 2025, at the age of 74. She was just 1 month and 1 day shy of her birthday. Carolyn is proceeded in death with her deceased parents: William and Edith Minor, and her siblings: William Minor Jr., Stanton Minor. Christy Minor, and Phshelle Minor.
Caroln was born with a disability which limited her and created a lot of barriers in her life such as being able to attend school in her child and teenage years as well as never being able to work or engage in many activities. Carolyn was a youthful free-spirited person who never bothered anyone. She had a passion for music, whereas you could always find her sitting with or carrying her radio on any occasion. She had an infectious laugh and smile to light up anyone's day. Carolyn loved getting her nails done, and she had a passion for pocketbooks and boots. If she saw you with some nice boots or purse, she wanted it too. Carolyn loved being in a positive environment and around positive people.
Carolyn attended Golden Horizon Adult School and Care, where she enjoyed performing activities with other disabled, and senior adults. Golden Horizon specializes in seniors with dementia and Alzheimer, and her socialization with members and staff helped improved her quality of life. She began doing things with many others, such as playing games and learning and discovering new and different things on a daily basis.
Carolyn leaves a legacy of memories through her family. Carolyn is survived by her living siblings: Gloria Minor, Gregory Minor (Odessa, Valerie Davis (Graham), Glenda Minor, Teresa Minor, Marcus Minor, Tonya Minor (Ronald) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Carolyn was full of love, laughter, innocence and resilience, and she touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be truly missed, but she has left everlasting memories upon everyone or anyone she has encountered throughout her journey through life.
