Caroline Faile, 81, of Durham, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 3, 2024. Caroline was a vibrant and adventurous woman who loved to travel and try new things. She learned to ride a motorcycle in her 30s and joined a women's motorcycle club. She also obtained her pilot's license and flew her own plane. She was an avid gardener and landscaper who took pride in her beautiful yard. She was a loving mother and a successful entrepreneur.

Caroline was born on July 8, 1943, in Lancaster, SC, to the late Steve and Connie Faile. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1961 and attended University of South Carolina. She started her own limousine service and served as the president of the North Carolina Limousine Association and was involved in several other business ventures.

Caroline is survived by her daughter Lynne Alman of Durham, NC, her son Jeff Alman of Raleigh, NC, her daughter-in-law Anne Alman of Raleigh, NC, her granddaughter Kaitlyn Alman of Raleigh, NC, her grandsons Cliff, Justin, and Brandon Bould of Long Island, NY, her brother David Faile of Lancaster, SC, her sister-in-law Sherry Faile of Lancaster, SC, her sister Polly McIntosh of Edisto Island, SC, and her sister-in-law Judy Faile of Lancaster, SC. She was preceded in death by her sister Rose Doudoukjian, her brother-in-law John Doudoukjian, her brother Cecil Faile, her brother Buddy Faile, and her brother-in-law Calvin McIntosh.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
