Brenda Denise Covington, 70, a long-time resident of
Durham was born on February 27, 1954 to both the late Parker
Jackson Covington, and Frances Leach Covington in Baltimore
Maryland. She was a graduate of Hillside High, and worked many
years at IBM in Research Triangle Park, before retiring early to
care for her elderly mother. Brenda was a sweet, loving,
compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and
friend; who lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like
cooking, volunteering in the community, solving difficult cross-
word puzzles, dancing, and taking care of her loved ones.
She will definitely be remembered for her infectious laugh, fiery
spirit, big heart, and being a straight shooter for telling you just
like it was! Brenda was preceded in death by her brother –Parker
Covington Jr., 3 sisters: Agnes Chestnut, Pearline Freeman, and
Elizabeth Jacob of Baltimore Maryland. Brenda leaves to cherish
