Barbara Louise Keys Aikens passed away peacefully Sunday, July 14, 2024 in Raleigh, North Carolina after a long battle with breast cancer she fought courageously; she was born to Barbara L. Keys and Ruffin R. Keys in Blounts Creek, North Carolina on February 12, 1968.


Her family will remember her as a joyful woman with a beautiful smile who loved to cook, bake, take pictures, sing, create music dedicated to God, and was well-known for serving the needs of others, especially elders. Her children will remember her as the epitome of hard work and loving care, as she gladly sacrificed so much to ensure their livelihood and fruitful upbringing. Visitation is 12:00 PM with memorial service starting at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Kingdom Life Community Church 3681 Hwy 17 Washington, North Carolina.


She is survived by her 2 sons, Gabriel M. Aikens (Dadirai) and Kwesi I. Aikens; daughter Aziza-Asa M. Aikens; 5 brothers, Bobby D. Grantham, Reginald A. Granthan, Ruffin R. Keys (Deborah), Lyndon B. Keys (Almeta), and Michael Keyes; 5 sisters, Angela I. Gray (Thomas), Rosa C. Nobles (Charles), Elizabeth K. Rodgers (Darryl), Tameka K. Baker (Stonie), and Kristy Saulsberry (William); and 3 grandchildren, Kunashe, Ruvarashe, and Takunda Aikens. She is recently predeceased by her phenomenal mother of the same name, Barbara Louise Keys.
