Artiveous Shoffner Obituary
Artiveous Tyrone Shoffner, affectionately known as Tyrone, was born on May 22, 1983, to Veronica Shoffner
Stallworth and Jimmy Holman. On May 10, 2024, he peacefully departed this life at UNC Hillsborough Hospital,
leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
From a young age, Tyrone found solace and purpose in his faith, accepting Christ under the guidance of Pastor
Deryl Bowicl< at the United for Christ Church. His journey continued through the Durham and Granville public
school systems, where he not only pursued his education but also excelled in football, a sport that ignited his
passion. Beyond playing, Tyrone generously shared his knowledge and love for the game by coaching the Durham
Firebirds, a summer league team.
Tyrone's greatest joy was found in his family. He possessed a boundless love for his loved ones, openly expressing
his affection and care. Children naturally gravitated towards him, drawn by his magnetic personality and nurturing
spirit. His infectious charisma endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Despite facing health challenges over the past five years, Tyrone exhibited unwavering resilience. His invincible
spirit and determination were evident as he continually fought against adversity, refusing to surrender to life's
obstacles.
Tyrone is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Julia Holman, maternal grandmother, Barbara Shoffner,
cousin Jabaris Williams, and other cherished family members and friends. He leaves behind a multitude of
cherished memories to be held close by those who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marnae Taylor, and their two sons, Tyron and Dayron Taylor, who were his pride and
joy. Additionally, he leaves behind his devoted mother, Veronica Stallworth, father Jimmy Holman, stepfather
Sanford Stallworth, siblings VeQuan Hammiel, Detrius Bridges, and Michael Shoffner, along with a large extended
family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tyrone held a special place in his heart for his
godson, Deonte Matthews, and his beloved godparents, Shan and David Terry.
In every life he touched, Tyrone's warmth, kindness, and resilience will continue to resonate, leaving an enduring
mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Though he may be physically absent, his spirit will forever live on in the
lives he touched and the memories he created. Rest in peace, Tyrone, knowing that your love and light will continue
to shine brightly in our hearts.
