Annie Myrl Woods Britt, aged 83, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born on December 30, 1940, in Trinity, Alabama, to John and Katie Jackson, who preceded her in death.
Annie carved a notable path as a real estate broker, dedicating 45 years to the profession after starting her career at IBM.
Annie was a vibrant member of her community, actively involved in Antioch Baptist Church in San Jose, California. She also attended True Way Holy Church in Durham, North Carolina.
Her hobbies included entertaining, shopping, cooking, and playing card games, all of which brought joy to her and those around her.
Annie is survived by her daughter, First Lady Kendra Woods Jones (Pastor Darrell Jones Sr.), and her grandchildren, Is-Allah Hardy, Amariah Jones, and Darrell Jones Jr. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Frances Woods, Brae’lynn and Naomi Jones, and Alyssa Woods.
She is survived by one sister Mrs. Merlean Foster of Chattanooga Tennessee and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. She also leaves behind a special daughter, Min. Amy Craig.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. Lorris Woods, her second husband, Bennie Britt, and her children, Wendy Ann Woods and LeBron James Woods and grandson Timothy Woods.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings Alfred, Carl, Robert, Mollie, Marie, Mattie, Margaret, Mildred, Marjorie, John, Onley, James and Otis.
The family will hold a viewing at True Way Holy Church, 403 Baptist Rd, Durham, North Carolina, on Sunday, July 14th at 2 pm, followed by the Homegoing service at 3 pm.
All arrangements are under the care of Weaver and Peaks Funeral Services, Durham, North Carolina.
Annie's life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
