Curtis Peaks, born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, is a dedicated entrepreneur and funeral service professional committed to serving his community with excellence and compassion. A graduate of Hillside High School, Class of 2012, Curtis has always possessed a strong entrepreneurial drive, founding and leading multiple businesses throughout his career.


He is the owner of Legacy Memorial Keepsakes, a specialized printing company that provides custom funeral graphics and print services. Through Legacy, Curtis has helped countless families honor their loved ones with personalized, high-quality keepsakes that reflect dignity and care.


Curtis began his journey in funeral service at Hanes Funeral Service, under the mentorship of Bishop F.O. Hanes. It was there that he learned the importance of serving families with compassion, respect, and professionalism. That experience became the foundation of his commitment to the funeral profession.


He went on to become a founding member of Weaver & Peaks Memorial Funeral Care, which has since evolved into Peaks & Waters Memorial Funeral Care. In these roles, Curtis has played a key part in supporting thousands of families during their times of loss, offering comfort and guidance rooted in empathy and service.


In addition to his professional work, Curtis is a faithful servant in his church and community, continuing to give back through spiritual leadership and service.


With a mission to uplift, comfort, and preserve legacies, Curtis Peaks remains a respected and passionate leader in both the business and funeral care communities.

Dr. Christion Waters is a founding member and co-owner of Peaks & Waters Memorial Funeral Care, where he currently serves as Director of Operations. He is a licensed funeral director, certified crematory operator, notary and licensed life insurance agent.



Prior to co-founding Peaks & Waters, Dr. Waters established Waters Mortuary Transport, positioning himself as a respected leader in the funeral services industry. His professional journey also includes serving as a law enforcement officer with the City of Winston-Salem and working in decedent care at Duke University Hospital, where he supported families through the deeply personal process of loss.



Throughout his career, Dr. Waters has assisted thousands of families at various funeral homes and crematories across North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Fayetteville State University and a degree in Funeral Service Education from Fayetteville Technical Community College. In August 2024, he earned his Doctorate of Philosophy from a private institution in Houston, Texas.



In recognition of his steadfast commitment to community service, Dr. Waters was honored with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden.



Dr. Waters’ passion for funeral service began at the age of 13, when he started assisting at his family’s funeral firm in South Carolina. Today, he continues to lead with purpose across affiliated facilities, including Carroll-Waters Funerals & Cremation, Simple Cremations of North Carolina, and Unity Funeral Services.



He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association (NCFDA).

Dr. Waters’ professional mission is rooted in his core values of Honesty, Fairness, and Compassion—principles that guide his every interaction and commitment to those he serves.

Samuel found a passion for death care at a young age. With over 15 years of experience in the funeral service industry he is currently licensed in the state of North Carolina as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia. He currently serves in the capacity of Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the Funeral Directors and Morticians Association of North Carolina (FD&MA of NC), sits on the Board of Directors for CODA Connections Inc.(Children of Deaf Adults) and is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter. He is a pioneer of change and takes his work seriously, striving to provide his families with the best care possible. His focus has always been to show compassion, leave his families with a beautiful lasting moment and to be a positive impact on his community.

Reginald D. Boynton II is a licensed minister with the United Holy Church of America Inc., bringing spiritual guidance and compassionate care to families in Durham, North Carolina and its surrounding communities.


As a devoted husband, Reginald cherishes his role as a loving partner and supportive family man. By trade, he is a seasoned accountant—known for his integrity, precision, and trusted financial guidance. A serial entrepreneur at heart, Reginald has founded and driven multiple businesses over the years, demonstrating creativity, leadership, and a strong work ethic.


He is deeply rooted in community service, volunteering time and expertise to support local initiatives and uplift those around him. His warmth, empathy, and reliability have made him a respected and caring figure in Durham’s civic and spiritual life. Whether in professional halls or places of worship, Reginald’s presence brings comfort, hope, and steady support to all who know him.

Jace Curtis Peaks is a bright and joyful 3-year-old with a big heart and an even bigger smile. He loves God, has a natural rhythm for playing the drums, and shows a sharp mind—just like his father, Curtis Peaks.


From a young age, Jace is already showing signs of leadership and compassion. One day, he hopes to carry on his father's legacy and help lead the family business at Peaks & Waters Memorial Funeral Care with the same dedication and grace.
